During the early morning of Thursday, March 24, 2017, Judge Timothy C. Williams from Department 16 of the Eighth Judicial Court presided over a matter inside his courtroom. However this matter was the first of its kind that he had ever encountered during his tenure as judge and the first time that a Judge from any Division has ever presided over in Nevada history, maybe even American history too. Judge Williams dressed in his robe, performed a private ceremony attended by a dozen people, in which he shared history about the constitution, Bill of Rights and 'Power of The People'. The case that was heard on the calendar today was the Crowning of the Queens Ceremony to swear-in new 2017 delegates of the Endeavor Community Service Pageant. Developed in 2015 by the Endeavor Pageant Organization, the mission of the Endeavor Community Service Pageant is to positively impact the community through service. Andre' Haynes, Founder of the Endeavor Pageant Organization and Director of the Endeavor Community Service Pageant, sat quietly next to supporters gathered inside the courtroom and watched as his eyes and smile were filled with compassion and pride. Nicole Duffel – Ms. Elite Endeavor America 2017 hosted the historic ceremony. Nicole Duffel is the charter queen who joined the Endeavor Pageant Organization when it began in 2015.
The new 2017 ambassadors include Jr. Endeavor Nevada - Kamani Travis, Teen Endeavor Nevada - Veronica Beauchamp and Senior Endeavor Nevada - Joan Schaumburg.
Kamani is a local high-school student who is passionate about animals and children and joined the Endeavor Community Service Pageant in 2016. Veronica is a local high-school student who is an ambassador for Make-A-Wish Foundation and often encourages youth by sharing her story about living with Lupus. Joan hosts a television talk-show on Sun City Anthem TV. Nicole is a celebrity in her own right who is a certified gymnast, choreographer, dancer, fitness instructor, jewelry designer, model, singer and more.
Andre' Haynes was introduced to pageantry in 2012 when he managed pageant queens, provided public relations through his company, EMG Public Relations, and even judged competitions for national pageants hosted throughout Las Vegas, Nevada and in Long Beach, California. He realized that there was not a demand, but instead a desperate and dire need for a pageant to be service oriented and to make a positive community impact. He watched and learned from pageant directors for nearly three years before deciding that it was time to launch the Endeavor Pageant Organization which formed the Endeavor Community Service Pageant. "Some pageants are based on physical beauty. Some pageants are based on the amount of money raised for the host organization. Some pageants are based on popularity. Some pageants are based on talent. I am very proud to have the first and only pageant that is based on community service," commented Andre' Haynes in an email. “Although many pageant queens personally know me and promised to support my endeavor when it began in 2015, the only person who stepped up to the plate and wore the crown was Nicole Duffel. The Endeavor Community Service Pageant is what is today because of Nicole and I am forever grateful and indebted to her. If you are a woman and passionate about serving the great community in which we live, than I implore you to consider joining the Endeavor Community Service Pageant this year and bring your endeavors to life.”
This year the Endeavor Community Service Pageant queens have already made dozens of public appearances, presented awards during ceremonies, participated in media interviews, emceed and hosted special events, volunteered and fundraised for countless local charities. On next Tuesday - March 28, 2017, Mayor Allan Litman will present a proclamation declaring April 3, 2017 as Endeavor Community Service Pageant Day to Andre' Haynes and company during the Mesquite Mayor and Council Meeting at the Mesquite City Hall. Other dignitaries including Mayor Rod Woodbury (Boulder City), Mayor Carolyn Goodman (Las Vegas) and Mayor Andy Hafen (City of Henderson) have also drafted proclamations declaring April 3, 2017 as Endeavor Community Service Pageant Day.
Andre' plans to host the inaugural Endeavor Community Service Pageant competition in the fourth quarter of 2017 to crown new service queens who will reign in 2018. Divisions include Jr. (13-15 years), Teen (16-19 years), Miss (20-29 years), Mrs. (25-49 years), Ms. (30-50 years), Lady (50-65 years) and Senior (65+ years). Titles include State, National and Legacy and the territory includes Nevada.
